Violet Brooch by Exquisite 1960's in Original Floral Box with Card (SOLD)

This is a cold enamel Violet pin by Exquisite Jewellery Ltd., of Solihull, Warwickshire, England.  It was one of their range of Birthday Flower Brooches introduced and extremely popular during the 1960's.  These pins came in two sizes with a flower for every month of the year!  This is the larger sized one! The Violet Brooch is the pin for March .  It has a silvery gold tone finish and has the classic "bow" tied around the bunch of flowers which features on many of these designer pins. Because these pieces were hand finished, you get marked variations in the colours.  This one has a soft mint green on the outer part of the leaves with a bright green stripe up the middle of the leaves and a vibrant dark purple on the flowers themselves. It is in good vintage condition and comes complete with its original mount; a greetings card  which says 'Your Birthday flower Brooch' by Exquisite with a lovely little picture of the violet and the words 'hand painted' on the front of the tiny card and on the reverse it says 'may this token remind you of a very happy occasion' ; included are two protective clear cellophane covers; the original design registration document and a lovely decorated box, labelled 'March - Violet'.  This must be the ultimate 'Exquisite ' collectors' piece because the packaging is so complete. So it is great for Birthday Flower Brooch collectors or as a present for anyone who has a March Birthday, the name 'Violet' or just for you because you like it! Approximate measurements  for the brooch itself are  6.5cms (2.5ins) by 4cms (1.5ins).  This item fastens with a rollover type clasp.  The brooch is in unworn, mint condition and the box is in good vintage order with some small signs that it has been around a while!
