Vintage Marcasite Flower and Leaf Brooch - 1940s to 1950s

Here is a sweet, tiny floral brooch from the 1940s to 1950s.  This little vintage pin is set with loads of real marcasites. Marcasites are a natural gem, Iron Pyrites, used in precious and costume jewellery since the early 19th Century. These stones cut easily and have a soft lustre and twinkle gently. The flower with leaf is white metal , silver in colour, with Rhodium plated finish. The brooch fastens with a roll-over style clasp and measures approx 1.5 ins by half an inch at its widest point. It is offered in Excellent condition.
