Vintage Exquisite Iris Brooch - Large Sized Brooch (SOLD)

A floral brooch which is just ready to wear and looks really modern. Here is a beautiful large sized signed Exquisite Flowers of the Month range pin.  This costume brooch appears to be a more up to date version than the original 1960s flower brooches.  I would estimate that it dates circa 1970s as there are subtle differences in its decoration.  This brooch has still been hand painted but the finish of the brooch has a very strong gilt look and the painting of the flower heads and leaves is slightly metallic.  The all important Exquisite bow around the stems of the flowers is a feature to the front and the Exquisite signature is on the back but is hard to make the design number is there also, again more of a blank block than something easy to read.  The Iris Brooch is the pin for April .   Because these pieces were hand finished, you get marked variations in the colours.  This one has a bright gold effect metal and strong bright colours with kelly green leaves and two tones of blue with a yellow flash on the flowers themselves. It is in excellent vintage condition.  What a great gift for anyone who has a April Birthday or just because you like it! Approximate measurements are  6.5cms (2.5ins) by 5 cms (2ins).  This item fastens with a rollover type clasp.
