Vintage Exquisite Brooch - 1960's Enamel 'Mountain Ash' Brooch signed Exquisite Original Card (SOLD)

This is a great cold enamelled metal brooch by 'Exquisite'. It is good to get signed vintage brooches in their original packaging and this brooch comes on the plastic presentation card with the Exquisite logo and the words 'Mountain Ash' .  Here is a perfect branch from a Rowan Tree - the Mountain Ash.  The leaves are two tone colours with a smattering of yellow over the green.  The bright red rowan berries are dangling in clusters. There is a soft goldtone metal finish to the branch and to the reverse of the brooch where the 'Exquisite' signature is clear to see.  The brooch which measures 2.5 inches by 2 ins ( 7cms x 5cms) fastens with a secure roll over type clasp. This  piece is from the Birmingham manufacturer W.A.P. Watson who were the owners of the 'Exquisite' brand.  I have been advised that the Company made costume jewellery from 1914 - 1970 but I have not found any written evidence to prove this information.  However, it is certain that the designs of their popular 'Trees of the month' range of jewellery was protected by design registration in the early 1960s.  This brooch is in excellent order.  It would be so lovely to wear on a vintage jacket and would be a nice addition to your costume jewellery  or signed "Exquisite" collection!
