Vintage Butler and Wilson Gilt Rope and Faux Pearl Button Earrings (SOLD)

The size and style of these vintage clip-on earrings dates them to the 1980's era.  Each earring is approximately 3cms in diameter with the faux pearl button being about 1.5cms in diameter.  These vintage earclips are a classic design and with the 1980's style coming back into fashion they are bang up to date all over again!  In good condition, the round earrings consist of a gold plated double rope surrounding a creamy coloured half pearl bead.  To the reverse they bear good secure ear clips and the Butler and Wilson signature - a round disc with the words BUTLER & WILSON in the company's usual typeface.

2009 saw the celebration of  this famous UK Jewellery designers' 40th Anniversary! Here is a little of the Butler and Wilson story: -

Butler and Wilson began life in 1969 as a stall selling antique jewellery.  One of the original partners in the business, Simon Wilson, is still the design supremo and head of the Company today.  The business has grown in various shop locations in London,  Glasgow, within Harrods and on QVC TV and  has even being involved in designing jewellery for the Tower of London and Buckingham Palace gift shops.  Involvement with Swarovski, collaboration with many US designers and sales to the great, famous and glamorous  have helped this company become world famous!  Anyone who adores  fabulous, glittering jewels,  quirky jewelry designs, vintage bags, vintage costume, bridal frocks and 'WOW' jewellery can't help but be a Butler and Wilson Fan !
