Vintage Bubblegum Pink Rose Trio - 1950's hand carved Lucite Brooch (SOLD)

This is a very pretty pink floral brooch dating from the 1950s.  The picture doesn't quite get the right shade of pink for the roses, the best colour to describe them as is 'bubblegum pink'.  Each rose on this lucite brooch has been hand carved from the reverse and so too have the leaves.  The leaves have a pretty mint blue green shade and both the flowers and the leaves have obviously faded from a much brighter original colour. Lucite brooches are popular to collect and are great to wear as the clear nature of the acrylic plastic allows the colour of a garment to show through making the brooch look different on every outfit as it takes on the background colour - soft and pretty on light materials, dark and dramatic on black. This vintage brooch is in excellent condition and it fastens with a chromed metal back pin with guarded end.  The brooch measures 4 cms in diameter and benefits from a stepped carved rim which helps to reflect the pink roses.
