Vintage Brooch - Two Elephants - Pressed Metal Marcasite Effect

Two lovely elephants each with their trunks up for good luck are the animals on this super brooch just waiting to adorn your lapel!  Here is a great vintage faux marcasite Elephant Brooch.   Finished in chrome, these pressed metal brooches were produced in England by the famous Charles Horner company and were one of their fancy lines of costume jewellery in the late 1940,s through the 1950s and into the 1960's. Originally cheap and cheerful they are now becoming increasingly hard to find and costume jewellery collectors love them. They are light in weight so are incredibly easy to wear on any fabric. This is just one of the many styles available. The Company also produced birds,  other animals, ships, figurals,  florals, crowns, people, butterflies and many other quirky designs.   The Vintage Elephants Pin measures a little over  2 inches by about three quarters of an inch and fastens with an old fashioned 'c' type clasp.
