Victorian Silver Fronted Brooch - 19 th Century Antique SOLD
This is an unusual and attractive Victorian Brooch. It consists of an engraved disc of silver applied over a white metal back. The item bears no hallmarks but is typical of the jewellery popular in the 1880s. The engraved work depicts flowers and foliage and this is under what appears to be a folded over pointed-end ribbon with a ball decoration. The brooch has a diameter of a little over 1 inch approx. The pin fastens with an old fashioned c type clasp. Smart, wearable and different, this would make a lovely gift for anyone with an interest in Victorian or antique silver items.
