Victorian Silver Cricket Detail Fob for a Gentleman's Watch Chain (SOLD)

This is a really wonderful fob or seal or charm or miniature piece.  It is Victorian Sterling Silver with a full Birmingham Hallmark for 1898, that is a Lion passant, a  ' y '  and the Anchor mark.  There is also a Maker's mark but this is rubbed and I can't really decipher it all, what I can see are some letters -  possibly E.W.I.D or E.W.Ltd? but I can't be sure . A collectable and interesting item for anyone who enjoys Cricket. This charm is a perfect miniature stumps with bail, a cricket bat and ball which is so detailed you can see the stitching!  It is just about 1 inch tall with a base diameter of five eighths of an inch round. I think that it was intended to be a seal or fob for a gentleman's pocket watch chain because the bottom has a circle of real Carnelian stone which would have been perfect for engraving with initials or a heraldic seal.  There is a little sterling silver ring at the top of the charm which has a lion passant mark on it, again confirming it is sterling silver.  The condition is excellent, there is one tiny nibble on the carnelian stone but this in no way detracts from the item.
