Unusual 1960's Pansy Brooch signed Exquisite (SOLD)

This is a  most unusual cold enamel Pansy pin by Exquisite Jewellery Ltd., of Solihull, Warwickshire, England.  This brooch has little red paste gemstones in the middle of the pansy flowers and it is the first time I have even seen one like this.  I wonder were the little glass gems added by someone or did they feature in the range of Birthday Flower Brooches introduced and extremely popular during the 1960's.  These pins came in two sizes with a flower for every month of the year!  This is the larger sized one! The Company also had a range of Leaf pins and matching earrings, as well as many other lines in quality costume jewellery. The Pansy Brooch is the pin for May .  It has a silver tone finish and has the classic "bow" tied around the bunch of flowers which features on all these designer pins.  The colours on this particular signed Exquisite brooch are strong bright green on the leaves and yellow, dark purple and pinky soft purple on the flowers. You can really tell that these lovely collectible vintage brooches used to be expertly painted by hand! It is in good vintage condition.  What a great gift for anyone who has a May Birthday or just because you like it! Approximate measurements are  6.5cms (2.5ins) by 4cms (1.5ins).  This item fastens with a rollover type clasp.
