SOLD Bead Necklace - Cherry Amber coloured Bakelite Barrels with Hematite and Metal Disc Rings
This necklace is a most unusual and highly wearable one. I think it is an artisan design but it could be tribal as it has different elements used together to great effect. The main statement beads in this necklace are sought-after so called “Cherry Amber” Bakelite beads in cylindrical barrel shape. These larger beads are spaced with two complementary materials - a series of white metal discs and circular hematite beads in silver grey colours. The largest beads 2 cms in length and are one and a quarter cms in diameter. 11 of the rounded barrel cherry amber Bakelite beads, twelve of the round hematite beads and a multitude of white metal rings make up the necklace. There is no clasp as the necklace measures just over 24 inches in length so slips easily over the head.
It has style and is unique and beautiful. This unusual necklace would be a super addition to a collection of early plastics and bakelite jewelry and would appeal to anyone who enjoys wearing or collecting interesting beads.
