SOLD 1960's Velvet Print Handbag - Very Romantic!

I really love this bag!  It is big enough for every day, yet glamorous enough to use for a special occasion!  Here we have a patterned velvet bag.  The picture is a 'Lovers' Tryst' .   The couple appear to be dressed in the style of the 18th Century.They have met in the garden, amongst a lush planting of flowers and foliage. So is he helping her to her feet so they can stroll on? Is he asking for her hand in marriage? who knows? but it is such fun to imagine......  The picture includes a little folly in the background and lots of leaves, trees and flowers picked out in greens, blues and browns on a black background.  The picture is repeated on both sides.  The frame of this lovely purse is in a patterned gold tone finish with a gilt chain handle.  The 'kissing' clasp for this one has four gilt cups set with a diamante stone.  One of these glass diamonds has 'champagned' - this means it is not white bright and sparkly as new, but has turned a more champagne colour.  I never mind this too much as it is sign of genuine age it is a little bit antique!  This bag is lined in a rich cream satin.  It has a pocket for a mirror and a pocket which you would slip your lipstick into.  The top edge of these two pockets is gold finished - lovely!  The size of this handbag is 9 inches square approximately with a 14 inch chain.   Condition is good, the only thing to mention is that the lining is a bit crumpled but this doesn't spoil the bag at all.
