SOLD A Flamenco Dancer Brooch - by Lea Stein of Paris - Also Known as “SEVILLE” RARE
With this remarkable brooch Lea Stein celebrates the art of Flamenco with a stunning image of a dancer with an open Spanish fan.
The brooch shows the ivory toned hands and face with sleek, black hairstyle. The brooch is 3-D and has movement by nature of its design. The dress and sleeves are frilled and blue. Blue and spotted layers swish at the hem and the bodice is picked out in a silver and white pattern where a layer of lurex fabric is encapsulated between the layers of cellulose acetate. The fan is fully open with cut away layers of blue, pearl white and red
This is a statement brooch of a large size measuring almost 4 inches by 2.5 inches at its widest points. This brooch is a superb example of the techniques used by Lea Stein in her jewellery - it has layers of Rhodoid and the layering and curving of this material as well as the use of non plastic fabrics in these layers is used to great effect here. To the back we have a white metal pin with guarded roll over style clasp and the all important LEA STEIN PARIS signatures.
