SOLD A Brown Bear Brooch By Lea Stein of Paris - Tom Bear Pin - Designer Brooch

This 3-D black eyed Brown Bear Brooch brooch is a charming design from the Parisian Jeweller, Lea Stein.  Her original brooches were first designed in the 1960s and are as popular now as they were back then.  This is a more recent design and in keeping with her Iconic Fox and Cat pins is made from cellulose acetate. This friendly Brown Bear Brooch is a fabulous item of costume jewellery and a real statement brooch for your wardrobe or collection. He has the cutest face with his round black and cream eyes little 'teddy ears' smiling mouth and shiny caramel nose! 

This contemporary Lea Stein Tom Bear Brooch brooch measures almost 2 inches by 3 inches approximately at its widest parts. Our Brown Teddy Bear Brooch has a mottled brown and caramel coloured fur.  This is a cute choice and will look fabulous on all your outfits; but particularly on the lapel of a snuggly winter coat.  The reverse of this brooch is finished in rippled tortoiseshell effect.  It has the traditional Lea Stein pin back with a roll-over type fastener. The piece is signed - 'Lea Stein, Paris'. 

Lea Stein also makes a Polar Bear pin in the same design and she has name Lea Stein who is famed for her jewellery and has a long history of creating wearable art,  has created a real winner with her fabulous Brown and Polar Bear Brooches; perfect for Christmas and Winter wear. 

Now for her history -

LEA STEIN was born in Paris in 1931 and worked as a dress designer. She began making her now famous Jewellery when her husband, Fernand Steinberger, ( a Plastics Chemist ) discovered a process of laminating cellulose acetate to create a unique range of colours & patterns.
Buttons for her frocks were their first products; followed by brooches, bangles and earrings. The factory was forced to close in the 1980’s but has since re-opened much to the relief of costume jewellery collectors and Lea Stein fans. Lea Stein loves to produce designs based on animals and flowers. Now she is quite an elderly lady but still introduces a couple of new designs each year.
Each brooch has the trademark ‘V’ shaped pin on the back and is signed: ‘LEA STEIN PARIS’. The manufacturing process used means that no two pieces are exactly alike. The fabulous designs, the ease of wearing and their quirky appeal are just some of the reasons why they are so collected around the world today.
