SOLD 1940's Silver Brooch - - Sterling Silver USA Medieval Lady Pin
This is an excellent example of a cast silver figural brooch. Dating to the 1940s this Medieval lady is the work of the USA Pacific jewellery company. This particular Lady brooch is made of cast sterling silver and is clearly hallmarked with JP for the maker and SILVER to indicate it is Sterling. measuring 2.5 inches by 1.25 inches at is widest points the brooch is in excellent condition. It is left unpolished with its Patina relevant to its age. If you wanted it bright a clean with Silver polish would do the job. This silver 1940s Medieval Lady brooch is very detailed. You can see the folds in the full skirts, her pointed shoe toe peeping from under them and even the decor on the panels at the hem of the dress and across her head. She has jewellery on. She is wearing the Hennin a veiled conical pointed hat which was a sign of nobility worn in European Court circles in the 1400s. What a wonderful gift this would be for anyone who loves this historic period. Could she be Guinevere looking for Sir Lancelot? This brooch is in excellent condition and fastens with a silver “c” shaped guard over the long pin.
