SOLD 1940s Heart Vintage Brooch - Lucite - Hand-Carved with a Vase of Flowers - Floral Pin
Hearts and flowers are romantic symbols and jewellery with both is bound to delight. Here we have a very pretty brooch made out of Perspex or Lucite. This has been hand-carved to the reverse to show a vase of flowers. The floral arrangement includes fully-open blooms and buds as well as a few trailing leaves; very "Constance Spry" in style! This lovely brooch dates from around the1940s into the 1950s when brooches like this were extremely popular. They are light to wear and because they are clear they can take on a different look depending on the colour of the garment they are pinned to; so dark or light, dramatic or subtle - the choice is yours. The colours in this lovely old heart brooch are ochre, gold, soft purple, pink and blue. This vintage Lucite brooch is offered in excellent condition with just a few teeny surface marks which are normal on early plastic jewellery like this. This hearts and flowers pin measures approximately 4 cms by 4 cms at its widest parts. There is a brass pin to the reverse and this is closed by a rollover style pin guard.
