Signed Exquisite Pin Boxed Copper Beech Brooch - 'Tatty' Box but Mint Pin! (SOLD)
Vintage brooches that have remained in their original boxes are often in mint condition and this is the case for this Beech Leaves Brooch. The box itself has taken a real bashing over the years and the top is in poor order but the bottom box is not too bad. The sales card with the 'Exquisite' logo and the word 'Beech' has remained in pretty good condition. Within the box is this lovely cold enamel brooch, one of a range of Leaf brooches designed in the 1960's by Exquisite Jewellery Ltd., of Solihull, Warwickshire, England. All of their designs were registered to prevent other companies copying! I have been advised that the company behind the brand, W.A.P. Watson, used designers from Paris to come up with their popular ranges, but I haven't managed to find this fact documented in writing yet! The leaves on this great vintage pin are nice and red with yellow and green flashes and the beech nuts are picked out in yellow with their little cups in green. This is a super collectable and is a really great vintage costume jewelry find! It measures approximately 2.75 inches by 2.5 inches and is in mint vintage order. The brooch fastens with a secure roll-over type clasp.
