Shamrock Brooch - Connemara Marble and Sterling Silver - Circa 1930s (sold)
Irish traditional jewellery is sought after and collected and it is so wearable too. Here we have a sweet Shamrock brooch made of Connemara Marble and Sterling Silver. The brooch is simply marked 'Silver' on the reverse and fastens with an old fashioned thick 'c' type closure. This pin dates to around the 1930s but the symbolism goes back much further than that and still continues today with the Shamrock being a symbol of Good Luck in Ireland. The marble in this particular vintage brooch is a gorgeous greeny grey colour with nice white veining.
