SARAH ANN - Edwardian Sterling Silver Name Brooch Hallmarked 1906 (SOLD)

Sarah Ann is the name on this English Sterling silver name brooch or name pin.  The shape of this name pin is fancy with engraved decoration as well as the applied capital letters spelling out the name 'Sarah Ann'.  This silver brooch is typical of the sweetheart and name pins that were popular in the Victorian and Edwardian eras but is unusual in that it has two names.  The antique brooch was hallmarked in Birmingham and does have a makers mark but this is partially struck and I cannot make out the letters! Measuring approximately 4 cms by 1.5 cms the brooch is in excellent order with just a few surface scratches commensurate with its age.  To the reverse there is a metal pin and an old fashioned 'c' shaped closure.
