Ric the Terrier Brooch by Lea Stein of Paris (SOLD)

Ric the Terrier is one a range of dog brooches and pins designed by Lea Stein of Paris.  Ric is a vintage style brooch that will appeal to all who adore Terrier dogs or collect dog brooches. Lea Stein’s Ric comes in two subtly different styles now; the earliest version of  Ric has a lozenge dog tag hanging from his collar. The latest Ric style shows Ric’s collar with three distinctive dots but no dog tag! One of the photos shows the two versions so you can compare. They look amazing when worn together so you may like to buy one of each style if you get the chance.
 Here we have a cool large acid green terrier dog with black ears, nose and eye plus a black collar with three  gold dots for detail! The best way to describe this laminate is as lime green with lots of gold effects as the brooch catches the light. However because of the laminate there are subtle changes in every light and at every angle you view the brooch from. It reminds me of the hidden glow you get from natural opal stones but it is just in the lime green and gold tones.
This gorgeous dog brooch is by the famous Parisian designer Lea Stein and it has her signature on the 'v' shaped pin fastening to prove it. This  dog pin is plain white to the reverse with just the ears and nose in contrasting black. The  Lea Stein Ric the Terrier Brooch measures about 9 cms by 6 cms. It is made of layered celluloid acetate or rhodoid. This is a contemporary design from Lea Stein who is famed for her jewellery, particularly her animal designs which have featured cats, foxes, dogs, birds and many other things over her history.
