Rhodium Finished Silver and Cultured Pearl Cufflinks Circa 1970s(SOLD)
These Rhodium coated silver cufflinks are each set with a creamy cultured pearl. Dating from between the 1970's and the 1980's these cufflinks look brand new and have no signs of wear at all. This may be due to the rhodium coating over the real silver metal. It is common for fine sterling silver jewellery manufactured in Japan or the USA to be finished with rhodium as it prevents tarnish and saves you having to clean the item! They are simply marked with the word 'silver' on the reverse of each cufflink. These vintage cufflinks are a decent size with the rectangle shape almost 2cms by 1.2 cms and the pearl has a diameter of 7mms. The condition is 'as new' bright and shiny with a top quality creamy cultured pearl. The style is reminiscent of scandinavian work with a brushed area on the outside of the rectangle and a lozenge shape to the centre where the pearl sits in the middle. They come to you in a Green Faux Leather Antique Style Presentation Box with a neat gold 'dot and dash' decoration tooled onto it. The cufflink box has a green velvet and cream satin lining and it fastens with a goldtone clip over clasp.
