Oval Antique Micro Mosaic Brooch Circa 1900 - 1920 (SOLD)

Dating from the early part of the 20th Century this Italian Micro Mosaic Brooch has lots of very tiny glass tiles held in place between twisted rope effect wires.  The little tiles or 'tesserae' sit in a goldtone frame to make up a pattern and the  metal mount is goldtoned with a rope twist border.  The centre of this oval brooch shows two roses picked out in shades of pink within a black border.  Around this is a myriad of tiles in light turquoise blue, red and white with star and dash designs. This super antique brooch is in the Florentine style and is in excellent condition.  It measures approximately 1 inch by three quarters of an inch and fastens with an old fashioned 'c' type hook to the back pin.
