Nora Victorian Silver Name Brooch Hallmarked Birmingham 1895 (SOLD)

Nora in script writing is quite an unusual name pin as most are circular or on a bar in the late nineteenth century. Our Nora name pin  was manufactured in Birmingham, England in 1895 in the Jewellery Quarter.  It is clearly marked with the lion passant for Sterling Silver, the Anchor which indicates that is was assayed in Birmingham and a gothic lower-case ‘v’ for the year 1895. So our Nora Name pin is a English Silver Victorian Name Brooch.  It is a small size being 3.5 cms by 2 cms at its longest and widest points. To give you a better idea of the size the second photo shows the name brooch in presentation box with a new £1 coin.   This silver name pin has neat engine-engraved designs on the letters and on the exaggerated tail of the ‘a’ which serves as an underscore detail.  To the reverse we have a metal pin with an old fashioned ‘c’ closure.e This Victorian name brooch is in very good condition all round.
