Mint and Boxed 'Iris' Cold Enamel Brooch signed 'Exquisite' - 1960's (SOLD)

The Iris  Brooch by Exquisite is one of the harder to find brooches from their popular 1960's range. In it's original delightful old flower print box with a little faded label saying 'APRIL - Iris' is this cold enamel Iris pin by Exquisite Jewellery Ltd., of Solihull, Warwickshire, England.  It was one of their range of Birthday Flower Brooches introduced and extremely popular during the 1960's.  These pins came in two sizes with a flower for every month of the year!  This is the larger sized one!  It is on its plastic presentation card which has the Exquisite logo too.  The original clear plastic sleeve protects the flower brooch within.   The Company also had a range of Leaf pins and matching earrings, as well as many other lines in quality costume jewellery. The Iris Brooch is the pin for April .  It has a gold tone finish and has the classic "bow" tied around the bunch of flowers which features on many of these designer pins. Because these pieces were hand finished, you get marked variations in the colours.  This one has strong bright colours with mid green leaves and two tones of blue with a yellow flash on the flowers themselves. It is in excellent vintage condition.  What a great gift for anyone who has a April Birthday or just because you like it! Approximate measurements are  6.5cms (2.5ins) by 5 cms (2ins).  This item fastens with a rollover type clasp.
