Majestic Swan Brooch Circa 1940's - 1950's (SOLD)

Here we have a very pretty vintage brooch depicting a white Swan beneath a weeping willow tree.  This brooch is an oval shape. The Swan is the most majestic of British river birds and appears to be serenely swimming amongst some pink and yellow water lilies. The whole embroidered picture has been worked in silks onto a blue material for the sky and water.  The Swan is very detailed with a neat yellow and black beak!  This is the kind of home made work that was popular in the 1940s and 1950s and this lovely old brooch dates from that time.  The embrodiery is mounted in a chrome finished frame with a decorated beaded border and the work is protected by a plastic film.  To the reverse the brooch fastens with a secure roll-over type clasp.  This vintage Swan brooch measures approximately 3 inches by 2 inches and is in very good condition.
