Little Antique 9ct Gold Baby Brooch (sold)

This is a really cute tiny pin, very suitable for a Christening gift or even to use on a delightful old antique doll!  The photo really doesn't do this piece justice as it is fresh and shiny and is a beautiful piece of collectable antique jewellery. The 9ct  yellow gold brooch has the word 'Baby' pierced out in an oval framework.  It is probably late Victorian, but could be Edwardian or from the first quarter of the 20th Century when the sentimental or  'sweetheart' brooch was very popular.  This vintage brooch measures just 1.25 inches long and is a little over a quarter of an inch wide at its fullest point.  It fastens on the back with a safety pin type closure.  It is hallmarked with the  maker's initials 'A & JH' and is stamped 9ct for nine carat gold.
