Lacemakers Bobbin Brooch and Earrings set with Antique 19th Century Bobbin (SOLD)
Here we have a great gift for anyone interested in antique lace, costume or lace-making. First there is a matching set of brooch and earrings. The set consists of three perfect small turned wood bobbins with wire ring and sparkly red glass and gold coloured beads which have been made into a brooch and earrings set. The earrings are for pierced ears and have sterling silver wires. The brooch is mounted on a white metal back pin with a guarded rollover type clasp. The bobbin parts of this jewellery measure approximately 2 and a quarter inches in length. I believe this set to be hand-made. I have paired them with a 19th Century real lace making bobbin tool. The bobbin measures just 5 inches in length. This bobbin is made of turned wood with little white metal dot inserts. The antique wooden bobbin has a wire with identifying beads. The beads are 19th Century too so are contemporary with the bobbin and consist of a large feather decorated round bead which has a goldstone glass panel and white, pink and blue decoration on a black background. Also on the wire are two pink, two white and two mauve pressed glass beads in various shapes and graduating sizes. What a unique gift this would be for the lacemaker in your life! All items are in great order so are sure to delight.
