'HILDA' is the name on this Edwardian sterling silver name brooch. This pretty name is written out in silver block capital letters applied to the real silver antique brooch to great effect. This silver name pin is of a decorative shape and also has engraved designs on the silver in the form of flowers, leaves and zig zags. Measuring an inch and a half in length and about half an inch at its widest point, this brooch fastens with an old fashioned 'c' type clasp - in common with Victorian and 19th Century brooches and pins. It has the full Hallmark for Birmingham ( the Anchor), the lion passant to show that it is sterling silver and the letter 'h' for the year 1907; there is also the maker's mark 'L' in a shield shape cartouche but I haven't been able to find out any more about these silversmiths. This collectable name brooch is in excellent condition.
