Grannie Brooch Circa 1910 - 20 - Mother of Pearl
Here we have a little mother of pearl natural shell bar brooch bearing the word “GRANNIE”. The letters are silver plated on a pale natural mother of pearl oblong background. I would estimate this sweet Antique bar pin to date from the first quarter of the twentieth century when sentimental gifts bearing the name of a loved one were extremely popular. The brooch is a small size being just over 4cms by 1cm at its longest and widest points. To give you a better idea of the size the second photo shows the name brooch with a new £1 coin. To the reverse we have a pin with a guarded stock pin style closure. This GRANNIE brooch is in very good condition with slight surface marks indicative of an antique piece of jewellery.
