Edwardian Silver Haircomb Hallmarked 1904 (SOLD)
This is a fine example of Edwardian workmanship. A neat small silver haircomb with a hand engraved detail to the top in a scrolled design with some small ferns cascading on to the top of the tines or prongs, each with a twist in the centre to help it to stay in the hair. This type of comb would have been positioned in the high hairstyle of the Edwardian era. A quality item, the haircomb measures approximately four inches in length by one and quarter inches in width. This silver haircomb has the lion passant to indicate that it is silver, the anchor symbol for the Birmingham assay office and the date letter for the year 1904. The makers mark is the letters WJH.
