Cherry Brooch by Exquisite - Realistic Cherry Tree Pin from 1960s - Smaller Sized Version

This is a great cold enamelled metal brooch by 'Exquisite'.   Here is a perfect representation of the leaf hanging from a branch from a Cherry Tree.  The leaves are two tone colours with a smattering of light brown over the lime green.  The bright metallic red cherries are dangling in a cluster of 4. There is a soft gold tone metal finish to the branch. The reverse of the brooch where the 'Exquisite' signature is clear to see is also gold tone.  The brooch which measures 2 inches by 1ins  fastens with a secure roll over type clasp. This  piece is from the Birmingham manufacturer W.A.P. Watson who were the owners of the 'Exquisite' brand. They made their famous trees and flowers series in two sizes and this Cherry Pin is the smaller sized version. I have been advised that the Company made costume jewellery from 1914 - 1970 but I have not found any written evidence to prove this information.  However, it is certain that the designs of their popular 'Trees of the month' range of jewellery was protected by design registration in the early 1960s.  This brooch is in excellent order.  It would be so lovely to wear on a vintage jacket and would be a nice addition to your costume jewellery  or signed "Exquisite" collection! Perfect if your name or the name of a loved one is Cherry too!
