Beautiful Pansy blooms are the design for this vintage brooch. It is very exciting to find this vintage brooch in its original box and on its original sales display card. Being in the original packing has protected it and kept it in excellent order for you to enjoy today. This is a cold enamel Pansy pin by Exquisite Jewellery Ltd., of Solihull, Warwickshire, England. It was one of their range of Birthday Flower Brooches introduced and extremely popular during the 1960's. There is even the paper listing included which details the flower brooches available in this series. These pins came in two sizes with a flower for every month of the year. This is the larger sized one! The Company also had a range of Leaf pins and matching earrings, as well as many other lines in quality costume jewellery. The Pansy Brooch is the pin for May . It has a soft gold tone finish and has the classic "bow" tied around the bunch of flowers which features on all these designer pins. The detail on this Pansy Flower Brooch is gorgeous! There are three perfect pansies, yellow with a white flashed purple middle, very dark mauve (almost deep navy) with yellow flashes and a white middle and a pinky purple pansy , again with some tiny flashes of white and with a black middle. There are two purple buds and one yellow bud too as well as green leaves and stems. You can really tell that these lovely collectible vintage brooches used to be expertly painted by hand. What a great gift for anyone who has a May Birthday or just because you like it! Approximate measurements are 6.5cms (2.5ins) by 4cms (1.5ins). This item fastens with a rollover type clasp. Th box, which has a pretty floral pattern is also in excellent condition, with internal plastic liner and white pad. The packaging measures 3.25 by 4.25 inches.
