This is a great example of Art Deco Diamante jewellery. It is a white metal hairband style tiara set with sparkling glass crystal jewels. The stones in this diamante tiara are channel set in 6 individual groups to each side flanking a large central jewel which is marquise or navette shaped. There is a chased decoration on the metal which holds the stones in place. Within each curved shape there are 8 graduated diamantes making 97 stones in total in this Art Deco tiara. This is just the style of hair ornament a debutante might have worn in the 1930s. it would be a lovely hair decoration for a bride, especially for a vintage wedding theme. It would also be very pretty to wear this vintage tiara to a ball or special party. The hairband measures 5 by 4.5inches across and is flexible. There are two little holes at the end of the white metal band which would allow elastic or fine cord or ribbon to be added or would permit thin hairgrips to be used for extra security. The marquise or navette shaped crystal to the top of the tiara is half an inch high and the curved cups along the top of the tiara are each a fraction over half an inch in length. The diamante set decoration runs across the top of the tiara for 4 inches. This 1930's art deco hair band is in very good condition with the stones nice and sparkly and just the slightest dulling to the chromed white metal which is in keeping with items of this age.
