Art Deco 1930's Silver, Blue Crystal and Marcasite Necklace (SOLD)
This necklace is a classic art deco design and it dates from circa 1930. The centre stone is a sapphire blue glass crystal in a hexagonal shape with a central natural marcasite. This blue gem is mounted, collett style, on a silver and marcasite panel with a pierced art deco design. The panel is suspended from two side swags - again set with natural marcasite stones and this connects to a silver chain. This art deco necklace measures 16 inches in length with the central marcasite set pieces making up 2.5 inches of the length. I am assuming that the necklace is sterling silver but it is unmarked - apart from a 925 mark on the bolt ring clasp. This necklace is very unusual and it has bags of style. Perfect for lovers of the art deco period with its timeless appeal.
