An Octagonal Micro Mosaic Brooch - Circa 1890 - Antique Victorian Micro Mosaic Pin

A fabulous open flower is the focal point of this well executed antique micro mosaic brooch. The large open pink and white flower sits amongst tiny blue and yellow flowers upon a bed of leaves which are graduated in colour from dark green leaves on one side and leaves with yellow tips to green tops on the other. A single row of rectangular white tiles within a twisted gold tone wire circle is next. Around this six blue, red and white triangular canes make a six point star and finally there are six half circle portions with a feathered white and black fan shaped design within. There are two with pink tile surrounds, two with green tile surrounds one with blue tiles  and one with red tiles. This antique brooch is mounted in a brass gallery with an Etruscan style ball dot edge.  The Octagonal shape adds to it's appeal and style.  This micro mosaic  brooch  measures almost an inch in diameter  and fastens with a ' c '  type closure, with a long pin and is in excellent condition. It is just perfect to wear, to enjoy or to gift!
