American 1960's Flower Brooch in Yellow tones with Gold (SOLD)
This vintage item has a happy Sunny Colour and Style. So evocative of the Mary Quant designs in Great Britain and so much fun. Vintage Floral brooches add a touch of sunshine to any outfit. This is a great example of a 'New Old Stock' piece as it is around 40 years old and has lain in an American Warehouse until now. This super pin is a piece from the Swinging Sixties. It comes from Providence, New Island, USA. A centre of Costume Jewelry Manufacturing for many decades. The cold enamel finish is bright and strong with three layers of petals. The first two layers are Yellow and an Old Gold shade of yellow in colour and have been dot punched. The final petal layer is true Gold in colour and has open petals around a bright yellow button to the very centre. The contrasts between these shades of yellow and gold gives a great effect. The flower brooch is a good size being 3 inches in diameter! It is finished in two shades of yellow on the reverse. The brooch fastens with a 'v' shaped back pin with a secure roll over type clasp. The position of the pin ensures that this brooch will sit well on your lapel without flopping!
