Amazing Vintage Diamante Double Brooch with Dragonfly and Bloom (SOLD)

This is a very rare piece of Vintage Costume Jewellery and an extremely  beautiful double brooch .  It dates from the late 1940's or early 1950's and is a versatile and most collectable accessory.  A detailed diamante encrusted dragonfly has landed on an exotic paste set bloom in what first appears to be a fabulous vintage brooch.  But it has a secret! There are two separate brooches which connect together to make a bigger brooch.  You could wear either the flower brooch or the dragonfly brooch on its own,or together but separately, or joined to make a real statement piece of jewellery!  The quality of this vintage brooch is excellent and it is easy to join and separate thanks to the precision workmanship employed when it was made.  You simply slide either brooch onto a bar and they fit snuggly together.  Both brooches fasten with  secure  roll-over type clasps.   It is heavily rhodium plated and has the makers marks CP ENGLAND on both pieces. There are so many diamantes on this piece that I decide not to count them! The stones are all present although one or two have slightly 'champagned' but they do not detract in any way, rather they confirm it is a vintage piece, almost like a patina on lovely antique furniture makes it stand out from the new.  The whole item, with both brooches together on the bar fitment, measures a little over  2.5 inches by 1.75 inches. This would be an amazing addition to a collection of very special vintage jewellery and it would be a joy to wear too.  I have only seen this kind of brooch in books before,so am extremely pleased to offer it to a discerning customer.  This is a 'one of a kind' so don't miss it!
