A 1950s Pink Open Blossom Flower Brooch — Enamel and Lucite - Pink Flower Pin
Pretty and Pink! Here is a vintage costume jewellery brooch in the form of an open flower on leaves. It is from the late 1950s into the Swinging Sixties. The real enamel finish on this lovely pin is bright and strong with a creamy white background and a splatter of pink on the five petals. The middle of this open flower consists of twelve individually wired Moonglow Lucite beads with a pearlised effect - six pink and six white to be the stamens issuing from the petals. The brooch metal is finished in gold plate With the enamel petals framed with a fine line of gold. . The contrasts between the curved enamel petals and then the bejewelled stamens is most striking with a "stand out" 3-D effect and a little movement to the beaded middle which is totally charming. The flower brooch is a perfect size being approximately 1.5 inches in diameter. It is finished on a circular “Y” shaped back plate holding the pin with a secure roll over type clasp. The sensible position of the pin ensures that this brooch will sit well on your coat or jacket lapel or your Hippy Hat without flopping! This Flower pin is in very good order. It’s posdibly from the USA where Moonglow Lucite was used for smart costume jewellery in the 1950s.
