1960's Thistle Brooch by Exquisite - Enamel and Purple Jewels

This Thistle Flower Pin ( the flower of Scotland)  has hand painted cold enamel tops in purple and soft green leaves.  The body of each of the two thistles is encrusted with faux amethyst glass stones.  In a silver tone finish this nice vintage brooch dates to the 1960's.  It has the signature "Exquisite" being a piece from the renowned English jewellery makers.  Their Scottish collection were retailed through a showroom at Hope Street, Glasgow but the Exquisite Company's factory was based in Solihull, Warwickshire. This thistle pin measures approx 2.25 ins in length and is 2 inches at its widest point. This great brooch fastens with a secure roll over type clasp. In good condition, this vintage brooch measures just over 1.5 inches each way.  It fastens with a secure roll over type clasp and would look very jaunty on your lapel!
