1960's Signed 'Exquisite' Cherries and Leaves Brooch in Copper coloured finish

This is a great copper tone metal brooch by 'Exquisite'.  The leaves are very detailed with prominent veins and a touch of black colouring to enhance them. This brooch features in the Trees of the Month series and I have had similar with hand coloured details such as green leaves and red cherries but the one on offer here is a soft copper tone metal finish to the brooch front  and to the reverse of the brooch where the 'Exquisite' signature is clear to see.  The brooch which measures 2.5 inches by 2 ins ( 7cms x 5cms) fastens with a secure roll over type clasp. This  piece is from the Birmingham manufacturer W.A.P. Watson who were the owners of the 'Exquisite' brand.  I have been advised that the Company made costume jewellery from 1914 - 1970 but I have not found any written evidence to prove this information.  However, it is certain that the designs of their popular 'Trees of the month' range of jewellery was protected by design registration in the early 1960s.  This would be so lovely to wear on a vintage jacket and would be a jolly addition to your costume jewellery collection! this brooch is offered in very good to excellent condition.
