1950s Clutch Purse Handbag in Crochet Style Plasticised Finish (SOLD)
Navy Blue is the colour of this useful small clutch purse which dates to the end of the 1950s. The envelope style purse has been created in a type of crochet stitch, with a plasticised thread being the main component. Each set of stitches has an open scalloped style. This has created a vintage handbag suitable for both day or evening wear which is robust, light and lovely to look at. Inside the vintage clutch bag there is navy blue fabric for the lining and a little pocket which could hold a mirror, There is a label inside, simply saying 'Foreign'. The crochet work could be hand done and the plastic thread means it is resistant to marks and stains. A vintage bag in very good condition, its measurements are 8 inches by 5 inches and it closes with a strong press stud type fastener.
