1930's Sterling Silver and Marcasite Floral Necklace (SOLD)

This is an extremely pretty and feminine silver necklace set with facet cut marcasites.  The style is romantic Victorian revival and this delightful vintage necklace dates from the 1930's.  The design centres on a trio of open daisy type flowers with leaves with a neat swag of one flower with leaf and ribbon to each side.  The five flowers in this necklace all have a nice large marcasite as their middle and this looks most effective.  The detailed central panel and foliate swags are suspended on a sterling silver chain which finishes with a bolt ring clasp.  The total length of this lovely antique necklace is 16.5 inches with the middle marcasite set section being 1.5 inches by a little under three quarters of an inch at its deepest point and each of the flower swags being almost an inch.  This fine silver necklace is simply marked 'Sterling' on the reverse so it may be an American piece or one that was produced for the American market back in the 1930's.  I never overclean antique and vintage silver jewellery because some owners want their pieces to show their age.  This 1930's necklace is in excellent condition and is ready to wear and enjoy!
