1930's Floral Drop Paste Earrings in Silver Settings - Victorian Revival Style(SOLD)
These amazing floral earrings have a patent mark which dates them to circa 1938. They consist of a large crystal paste stone (quarter of an inch in diameter) surrounded by 9 smaller gems to make a flower head. This flower is mounted onto a graduated row of five paste stones and the whole is mounted in sterling silver with a new sterling silver earwire. The patent is for the way the gems are set and it is a remarkable claw setting, holding the stones perfectly with as much attention to detail as jewellers use to set real diamonds.Measuring a total of 2 inches in length, including the sterling silver earwire, these vintage earrings are big enough for impact, yet subtle enough to look like they could be real diamonds. The earrings are pictured on our life-sized mannekin, Ellie, a retro shop fitting which is perfect for modelling old jewellery! These earrings are in perfect condition with the stones and the silver settings bright and sparkling. Although they were produced in the Art Deco period they have the Victorian Romantic Revival Style making them a classic piece of jewellery perfect for a Bride.
