1930's Art Deco Necklace and Bracelet - Sterling Silver Panels with Faux Lapiz
This is an outstanding example of Art Deco costume jewellery. The set is made of Silver and is marked 'Sterling' . The blue carved oval panels and drop have the look of lapiz lazuli but I would imagine they are glass. Each one measures around 2cms at the longest point. They have deep-cut floral designs on them of daisies and bell flowers, maybe a kind of stylised bluebell with leaves. The suite is further enhanced by the use of twinkly real marcasites set in an open work sterling silver rectangular panel for the bracelet and on fleur-de-lys shaped drops for the fine necklace. The delicate chain on the necklace has ornate curved chain links. The necklace measures approx 44cms (17 inches) it has a fine decorative link chain and a bolt ring clasp. The bracelet is approx 18cms ( just over 7ins) and is also fastened by a bolt ring. The vintage marcasite and silver necklace is shown displayed on a life-size mannekin so you can appreciate how lovely it is on! The price quoted is for the 2 items as a set. They are even more beautiful in real life - tricky to capture their intricate beauty in the photos.
