1920's Venetian Foil Glass Bead Flapper Necklace - very rare (SOLD)

This wonderful necklace is made up of graduated foil glass beads in the most delicious shade of pink.  Each bead has a silver white spot effect which I have never seen before.  These handmade beads are a kind that are known as Venetian foils because the original technique for making them came from Venice.  It is most likely that this vintage necklace originates from Bohemia, maybe Czechoslovakia where they were very skilled at hand made glass techniques.  The length of these beads dates them to the 1920s when they would have been just the thing for a Flapper to wear with her beaded evening dress as she danced the Charleston!  Well, if this lovely strand of beads did go out dancing they show no sign as every bead is in excellent condition.  The beads are shown here on my model Dawn, a small statuette who is not life sized!
