1920's Flapper Armlet with Diamante Decoration SOLD

Here we have a nice armlet bangle in a mottled green and yellow swirl colour decorated with sparkly diamante stones and silver pins.  This piece of Flapper jewellery would have been worn above the elbow in the roaring 20's and would have been considered most racy and modern.  It was probably made in France, where they were particularly good at working early plastics and decorating and inlaying them with glass pastes or diamante and little silver pins.  This lovely item is made from the early plastic Celluloid. It has areas of translucent yellow and many shades of green and white - it is quite like some of the naturally-occuring marble and agates with banding.  The bangle measures just under 7.5cms in diameter on the inside and is about 1cm thick approximately.  It is tubular in shape and would group beautifully with other bangles for a stunning effect which is right in fashion again!
